From the above-mentioned table it indicates that more than 86.61% of the households earns less than the R3 500.00/month (R42 000 / p.a.) to qualify for the Governments housing subsidy scheme. However, it must be kept in mind that the majority of the urban population residing on serviced stands have been assisted already in terms of Government funding.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the amount of people earning no income has increased with almost 5 percent. This statistics should inform the Local Economic Development projects within the region.
